The age old debate regarding stepparents will never fade out. For children with divorced parents, or with parents who have passed, feeling like you have to replace someone is like insult to injury. Grieving is a highly sensitive process, and how the people around you behave makes a big difference in one's healing. In the story below, the protagonist grew up with a stepfather for most of her life. She never felt like he was going to replace her father, despite her mom trying to force a relationship between them. She even admits to holding no animosity, but it doesn't mean she has to love or accept the guy. 

Well, her wedding is approaching, and she chooses her grandfather to walk her down the aisle. She claims that he was always there for her, that he supported her a lot when her bio dad was sick and passing, and that she's much closer to him. Of course, her mother is distraught at her decision, and even thinks it's disrespectful. But comment below what you think about it.
